Maude Josephine Wadsworth Larson, daughter of Wilson and Carrie Blilie/Blele Wadsworth was born February 12, 1894 at Fremont, Nebraska. She attended school and was raised at Fremont. She later taught school at Issue Station and Day School at Ponca Creek in South Dakota. On March 30, 1914 she married Richard J. Larson at Fairfax, South Dakota. They later moved to Dunlap, Iowa where they farmed until 1926, after which, they moved to Harlan, Iowa. Maude was a sixth generation descendant of Captain Joseph Wadsworth of Charter Oak fame. She died March 27, 1986 at Baptist Memorial at age 92 years, 1 month and 15 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard in 1964; two brothers, Clyde and William Wadsworth and a sister, Lena Lary. Survivors include two sons; Louis of Council Bluffs and Duane of Lakewood, Colorado; two daughters, Laura Pedersen of Star, Idaho and Ula Schuemann of Utica, Illinois. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 31, 1986 at Burmeister Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Brayman officiating. Burial was in Harlan cemetery with Steven Tschannen, Robert Paulsen, Don Stowe, Gerald Schwinderman William Stout and
Frank Schuemann serving as pallbearers.
