Ricky Dale Kennedy, 64, Nevada, MO, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Freeman Health System, Joplin, MO. Ricky was born on December 9, 1955 in Nevada to Walter Harold and Gwendolyn Leona (Morris) Kennedy.

Ricky was raised in the Metz, MO area and graduated from Metz High School Class of 1973. He operated Double K Trucking for a number and years and has worked for Tim Forkner in the trucking business for the past 10 years. Ricky liked to hunt and fish and was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous. He enjoyed helping people and was known by many to have a servant’s heart. Ricky was a member of the Walker Christian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Bridgetta Carsel and her husband Tony, Lamar, MO, and Angela Berryhill and her husband Corin, Lamar; 4 grandchildren, Jeffrey Carsel and his wife Laura, Lamar, Austin Carsel and his wife Jamy, Arlington, TX, Addison Berryhill, Lamar, and Mason Berryhill, Lamar; great-grandchildren Caitlyn and Remmington; one brother, Walter “Dub” Kennedy, Walker; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Morris Mulkins, and one sister, Sharon K. Wright.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Antioch Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2020 and from 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2020.

Those who wish may contribute in Ricky’s memory to Alcoholics Anonymous or Kid’s For Christ Ministry of the Walker Christian Church in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
