December 20, 2005 Jerry A. Schulz, 74, of Central Square, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at Springhill Hospital, Springhill, FL, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Born in Oswego, he had lived in Central Square since 1961. He graduated from Oswego State College with a master's degree in industrial arts and had taught at P.V. Moore High School in Central Square for 30 years before retiring in 1987. He also was the cross country and track coach for 28 years. Jerry was a Korean War U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of NYS Teachers' Association, a communicant of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Central Square, and a member of the Syracuse Chargers Track Club.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Eileen Grasso; two daughters, Sandra Burns and Karen Finnegan; three sons, Thomas (Kelly), Kevin (Sandra) and Dennis (Ann Marie); a sister, Rosemarie Francis; and 14 grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2005, at St. Michael's Church, S. Main St., Central Square, with spring burial in St. Peter's Cemetery, Oswego. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, at St. Michael's Church Parish Center. Contributions may be made to St. Michael's Church Building Fund; Downstair's Scotty, PO Box 514, Central Square, NY 13036; or to Central Square Track and Cross Country Boosters.
