James Elbert Dixon, 88, joined his wife Wilma in heaven on September 7, 2020. He lived in Chattanooga at the time of his death but was born, raised and spent his life in Cleveland. He was a charter member of Wesley Memorial Methodist church and was a member of McDonald United Methodist Church at the time of his passing. He, along with his wife, Wilma owned and operated a number of restaurants including the Little Old Fort Inn, Pizza to Go and was a contract operator of the food services at Cleveland State College. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.
He was proceeded in death by his loving and loved wife, Wilma; his parents Sam and Jessie Dixon; brothers, Raymond, Roy and Doyle; sisters, Nettie, Georgia and Sue.
He is survived by four children, Lee Ann Dixon and husband Phil Perry of Fernandina Beach, FL, Jim Dixon and wife Debbie of Summerville GA, Alan Dixon and wife Charron of Ayr, Ontario, Canada, and Patrick Dixon of New York City; six grandchildren; Paula Dixon, Alex (Casey) Mizell, Matt (Erica) Dixon, Adrian (Kelly) Mizell, Caedrin Dixon and Ember Dixon; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Dixon and Pierce Dixon; one step great-grandson Hayden Ludin; sister-in-law Judy Bailey of Ooltewah; several nieces and nephews and other family members.
A graveside service will be held at Lee Cemetery in McDonald at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2020 with Pastor Jacob Cortez conducting the service. A memorial service will be held in the near future at a time and place to be announced.
