James Albert Cranford, 74, of Asheboro, died Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

Graveside Services, 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Richland Baptist Church Cemetery, Asheboro. Officiating, Rev. Frank Barrett.

James was a native of Randolph County, retired with Merita Bread Company and a member of Landmark Baptist Church. He enjoyed collecting clocks and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Cranford, parents, Elton and Irene Southern Cranford, sister, Myrtle Ruth Cranford , and brothers, H.A. Cranford, Lonnie Cranford, and Melvin Cranford.

Survivors: daughters, Tammy Nixon and husband, Jeff, of Franklinville, Charlotte Cranford, of Asheboro, Angie Bray and husband, Greg, of Franklinville, brothers, David Cranford and wife, Ruth, Roy Cranford and wife, Sheila, Rex Cranford and wife, Alesia, all of Asheboro, Robert Cranford and wife, Janice, of New Bern, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws, Delores Cranford, of Greensboro, Renette Cranford, of Asheboro, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The body will lie in state on Wednesday, September 9 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home.
