Birth is recorded in GRO indexes for the Truro Registration District in the March quarter of 1839, under reference 9.310. He is listed as Joseph Argall.

BAPTISM: Baptism is recorded at Peterville Independent Chapel, St Agnes - 1807 to 1865. Baptism record gives a different birth date to that on his birth certificate, by one day.

At the front of this book is written: "Copy of the Church Book of the late Independent Chapel at Peterville Saint Agnes, which Book was sent to the Registrar General, London in May 1837, by my father, Samuel Rowse. Isaac Rowse May 31 1905. The Chapel was built in 1779 by the Clergyman of the Church, Revd Thomas Wills on his leaving St Agnes".

Inside the book is written: "Joseph, son of Joseph Argall of the Parish of St Agnes, and of Mary his wife, was born 20th January 1839 and Baptized 14 April 1839 by me Timo Wildbore."

MARRIAGE: The marriage is recorded in the GRO indexes for the Stoke Damerel Registration District in the September quarter of 1866 under reference 5b 611. The couple are listed as Joseph Argall and Emma J Stephens.

DEATH: He died intestate at his home at 31 George Street, Devonport. Death is recorded in the GRO indexes for the Stoke Damerel Registration District in the December quarter of 1880, under reference 5b 209. He is listed as Joseph Argall, aged 41.
