Thomas H. Maxeiner, 51, of Decatur died 7:50 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 23,
1990) in Fire Station No. 1.
Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Decatur.
Mr. Maxeiner was born in Springfield, son of Harold George and Frances M. (Mulkey) Maxeiner. He attended Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Church in Mount Zion. He was a lieutenant with the Decatur Fire Department and had been employed as a fireman for 19 years. He had worked his entire career out of Station No. 1 and served as an officer on Rescue Squad S.S. 1. He was a member of Fire Fighters Local 505 and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He married Nita Ayers in 1966.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Douglas K. and fiancee, Amy, both of Decatur; Mark T. at home; daughter, Mrs. Greg (Lori) of Decatur; father, Harold of Decatur; sister, Barbara Ann of Springfield; grandsons, Ryan, Kevin and Zachery, all of Decatur; granddaughters, Selina C. and Jill M., both of Decatur.
His mother preceded him in death.
