Calais, ME & Everett, MA – Daniel Pitts Dawson, 54, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Danny was born on January 7, 1966, son of Philip and Mary (Spillane) Dawson.
After graduating from Learning Prep School in Massachusetts, Danny became a civilian employee with the U.S. Coast Guard, and also worked at the Winthrop Lodge of Elks. Over the years, Danny lived between Everett, MA and Calais, ME.
Danny was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Mary Dawson. Surviving are his wife, Christine Doucette of Calais, ME; his son, who was his world, Darius Doucette of Calais, ME; three sisters, Pamela Dawson of Winthrop, MA, Peggy Bayliss of Calais, ME, and Sandy Dawson of Revere, MA; two brothers, Philip Dawson of Chattanooga, TN, and Paul Dawson and wife Joy of Rochester, MA; two nieces, Sarah Bayliss and companion Andrew Fraser of Calais, ME and Allie Dawson of Boston, MA; a nephew Ryan Bayliss of Meddybemps, ME; and a great-niece, Hannah Fraser.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father Kevin J. Martin 10 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2020 at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Calais Ave, Calais, ME. The funeral will be also aired at 10:00am LIVE-stream on Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish Facebook page. Please adhere to CDC guidelines for public gatherings.
