Sandra grew up in Kansas City, later moving to Appleton City where she was employed as a seamstress for Cloverleaf Manufacturing. She met Pauley E. Cooper while living in Appleton City, and they were married March 13, 1992 on a trip taken with Paul and Doris Eye to Miami, Oklahoma.
