AURORA, Colo. — Patrick (Pat) Franklin Andrews, 83, was born on April 10, 1935, in Billings and passed on Oct. 4, 2018, from Alzheimer’s disease in Aurora, Colorado, at home with family by his side.

The son of Alice (nee Talgo) Andrews and Arthur (Andy) Harry Andrews, Pat graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1953 and went on to be a Bobcat at Montana State from 1953-1957. At MSU, he was a member of the ROTC and Sigma Chi Fraternity. In 2002, he became a proud Life Loyal Sig.

After college graduation on June 10, 1957, he married Barbara (nee Smith) the next day. He later relocated with the military, where he was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, and then to Fort Knox, Kentucky, serving for two years as a First Lieutenant, Company Commander in the Infantry Division of the Army.

After completing his service, he worked in Marketing for Conoco and then NAPA Filters until his retirement. Throughout his career, his accomplishments earned him several trips, which he enjoyed with Barbara. After retirement, he worked at Walmart part time.

Pat was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was also involved with the Billings Masonic Lodge #113, Scottish Rite of Billings and Al Bedoo Temple Shriners.

He was generous to a fault, always helping those in need, including giving children bikes, and he once bought a woman a pair of shoes during his time at Walmart. With the condolences from friends and family coming in, the one thing they all agree on was that Pat was a fun guy and the life of the party. Life was never dull for his children with indoor water fights, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, hunting and times spent at Bitterroot Lake. At the Lake, he formed the Over the Hill Motorcycle gang with his Kalispell buddies and they would take off every year on big adventures. Pat coordinated his Billings Senior High School reunions with the last being their 60th. He also made sure all his classmates would meet for lunch once a month.

In their 61 years of marriage, Pat and Barbara moved 21 times and always made lifelong friends along the way. With the date of Pat’s death being 10-4, a memory that stands out especially is the times with his Pueblo, Colorado, buddies. They all bought CB radios that were popular in the 70s and would be out in the garage talking to truckers for hours.

Patrick stated last spring, "If I die tomorrow, it would be just fine. I have lived a good life, have a wonderful family and have no regrets." Well, we can now say "10-4 good buddy, over and out!" one final time.

Along with his wife Barbara, Pat is survived by his daughters Andi (Dan) Raber, Tammy (Bruce) Hernandez, sons Clay and Mike Andrews, and his eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Donations may be made to the Shrine Transportation Fund or Shiloh United Methodist Church in Billings.
