Caleb Walker Thompson, 18, of Sylvester passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020, in Albany. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020, in the Tabernacle at the South Georgia Church of God Campground in Tifton with the Rev. Glenn Fussell and the Rev. Ken Thompson officiating. Caleb was laid to rest at Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Worth County.

Caleb’s friends will serve as pallbearers.

Born June 13, 2002 in Albany, Caleb was the son of the Rev. Sam Thompson and Jennifer Phillips Thompson of Sylvester. Caleb graduated from Tift County High School and was an electrician apprentice for Metro Power in Albany. He played football up until high school and enjoyed basketball and playing on his Xbox. He was a member of Praise Temple Church of God in Sumner.

In addition to his parents, Caleb is survived by one sister, Hannah Thompson of Sylvester; his grandparents, Frank Walker Thompson and Beverly Thompson of Warwick and Kenneth and Dee Thompson of Sylvester; and his great-grandparents, Ted Jackson of Sylvester, Gerald and Lynda Grubbs of Fancy Gap, Virginia and Reba Charles of Blairsville.

Bowen Donaldson Home For Funerals was in charge of arrangements.
