Julia T. Lewis, 84, of Schenectady passed away peacefully at home on Saturday July 1, 2017.

Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Helen (DeNiscio) DiCristofaro.

Julia was a 1950 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and a 1953 graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing.

Julia was employed by the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany and later worked as a nurse in the Maternity Ward and OR at St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady, retiring in 1996.

Julia is predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years, Walter W. Lewis Sr. Julia was also predeceased by three brothers-Anthony DiCristofaro (Lorraine), John DiCristofaro (Donna) and Paul DiCristofaro (Jill) and by two sisters Patricia DiCristofaro and Mary Gatto (Nicholas).

Julia is survived by six loving children Geraldine N. Tortorella (Stephen) of Bedford, NY, Marcella J. Lewis of Chandler, AZ, Walter W. Lewis Jr. (Kathleen) of Wake Forest, NC, Mark A. Lewis (Lisa) of Burnt Hills, Matthew J. Lewis (Kimberly) of Hilton Head, SC and Christopher Lewis of Hidden Valley, PA. She is also survived by three loving brothers Mario DiCristofaro (Phyllis) of Schenectady, Richard DiCristofaro (Lynn) of Rotterdam Junction and Joseph DiCristofaro (Virg) of Bluefield, WV, two loving sisters Sr. Dorothy D. DiCristofaro of Villa Walsh Morristown, NJ and Irene Mirabito (Peter) of Scottsdale, AZ. Julia is also survived by her 14 loving grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in Broadalbin Union Rural Cemetery.
