She was born November 06, 1931 in Moatsville, daughter of the late Ira Delbert and Marguerite Jane Cline Freeman.
Wilma graduated from Kasson High School and attended WV Business College. She worked for Information & Referral Service which became Criss Cross Inc as an administrative assistant from which she retired. She attended Clarksburg Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She had very strong Christian values and loved to sing about her Savior. Wilma was very active with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and was known as “Mom” at Camp Mahonegon. Wilma was also mom and mammaw to not just her children and grandchildren but many of their friends as well.
Wilma is survived by two daughters, Elaine Carol Hammond and Barbara Joyce Connor and her husband, Rick; two sons, Dwight Kevin Davis and wife, Rachael and Charles Keith Davis; four grandchildren, Brandon Davis, Thomas Davis and Meg, Natasha Davis and Kaitlynn Davis and AnnaMarie; three great-grandchildren, Lola, Aaliyah and Levi Dwight; three brothers, Lowell C. (Shirley) Freeman, Ira D. (Jean) Freeman and Gary R. (Wanda) Freeman; one sister, Loretta P. (James) Norris; sister-in-law, Nancy Jo Freeman; brother-in-law, Richard Shepherd Davis and numerous nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Charles Davis the love of her life on October 13, 2012; one daughter, Jean Marie “Jeanie” Davis on September 12, 2015; son-in-law, Donald Lee Hammond; two brothers, Kenneth Darl Freeman and Murl Ray Freeman; by one sister, Genalee Shuman and Raymond and sister-in-law, Libby Davis .
The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 4:00 - 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Rev Gary R Freeman and Pastor Rocky Dodd officiating. Interment will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery.
