Jody Lynn Carter, age 40, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 at her home in East Prairie, Missouri. Born October 3, 1979 in Washington County, Missouri to Mary Carter Mace who survives of East Prairie and the late Jimmy Joe Dean, she was a convenience store clerk. She was of Baptist faith.

In addition to her mother, survivors include: her fiancé, William Patrick of East Prairie; her stepfather, William Mace of East Prairie; two sons, Brent (Jamie) Dobbs and Seth Dobbs, both of Potosi, Missouri; three daughters, Josie Carter and Elizabeth Dobbs, both of Potosi, Missouri and Miracle Wells of East Prairie; two brothers, Jimmy (Pam) Dean of St. Clair, Missouri and William (Emily) Mace, Jr. of East Prairie; and four sisters, Angela Dean (and fiancé Terry) of Dexter, Missouri and Billie Vinson, Stephanie Mace and Christian Dean, all of East Prairie. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Braxton Dobbs and Deegan Dobbs.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2020 beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. Mike Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.
