ELKHART--Rita Marlene Hobbs, 85, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Jan. 15, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born July 7, 1931, the daughter of George and Esther (Schlosser) Shaw.
On Dec. 25, 1947, she married the love of her life, Harold E. Hobbs. He preceded her in death March 8, 2016.
Survivors include one daughter, Loretta (Roger) Miller of Goshen; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 9 great-stepgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Paul E. Hobbs, two sisters, Billie Frye and Becky Carroll; and three brothers, Jack, Johnny and Glenn Shaw.
She was a loving homemaker to her family for many years.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
