GLENVILLE, NY - Bruce Lind Emerson, 58, of Swaggertown Rd., died Saturday May 31, 2003 at Ellis Hospital following a short illness.
Bruce was born in Boston, MA on March 7, 1945 and reared in Agawam, MA, graduating from Agawam High School in 1964. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
Bruce was an engineer for American Bausch and won an award for designing a system that recycled used oil. He later worked as a dispatcher for P.I.E. Trucking Co. He moved to Glenville in 2002 and work as a cook for St. Anne's Institute, Albany before becoming ill. He was a longtime member of the Agawam Congregational Church.
He was married on October 21, 1992 to the former Claire A. Fournier.
Bruce always brought laughter to those around him with his witty humor and smile.
Survived by his wife, Claire Emerson, he leaves a son, Bruce Emerson Wenzel of Las Vegas, NV and a daughter, Amy St. Peter of Ft. Bragg, NC; a step-son, Edward G. Biittig, Jr. of Scotia; his former wife and mother of his children, Georgia Wenzel of Martinsville, WV; and three grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe and Andrew.
Calling hours for relatives and friends will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home on Monday, June 2 from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, Main St., Catskill, NY on Tuesday June 3 at 11 a.m. Committal graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack, NH.
