Stephanie Lynn Wade, 22, resident of Bad Axe, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at home following a brave fight with cancer.
She was born Aug. 10, 1980, in Bad Axe to Donald Warren and Paula Corrine (Kapanka) Wade.
Stephanie was adventurous and found great pleasure traveling abroad. Stephanie was happiest when she was camping, down hill skiing, and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. Her love for drawing, doing crafts and collecting picture frames and mirrors was evident in her everyday life. Her kindness, positive, giving attitude and love for animals will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Stephanie was a 1998 graduate of Bad Axe High School. She attended Central Michigan University majoring in interior design. She worked for Corner Cabinet in Pigeon.
She is survived by her parents, Don and Paula Wade of Bad Axe; one brother, Christopher Wade of Bad Axe; her fiance, Brandon Bender of Port Hope; grandparents, Donald and Lexie Wade of Marysville; Robert and Rita Kapanka of St. Clair; great-grandfather, Allen Schmalz of Harbor Beach; special friends, Dr. Julianne Collinge of Bad Axe, Steve and Deb Schubring of Port Hope, Albert and Janice Bender of Port Austin; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe with Fr. John Killop officiating.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 Tuesday, from 1 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday at MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe.
A scripture service was conducted at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial took place at St. Roch's Catholic Cemetery in Caseville.
Memorials may be offered to the Family Discretionary Fund.
