Mildred was born in Haileyville, Oklahoma to James M. and Winnie L. May. She spent her early years in Bache, Oklahoma and attended Bache Elementary School and graduated from Haleyville High School, where she was the valedictorian of her class. In 1978, Mildred moved to New Mexico where she remained for a few years before moving to Arkansas. She married Albert Lee Richardson of Blytheville in 1984 and they were married for 19 years. Mildred worked for the Social Security Administration as a claim's representative. After her husband passed in 2003, Mildred moved back to New Mexico where she lived until her passing.
When the sister workers, Olive Sloan and Anna Coleman, brought the gospel to Bache, Oklahoma in 1943, Mildred's mother, Winnie, made her choice to serve the Lord. Hearing the gospel story made an impression on Mildred, who followed with her own choice a few years later as a young lady. In 2012, Mildred wrote in a letter that she was still trying to "comprehend the gold mine" that she inherited because of her mother's choice to walk in God's way. All who knew Mildred understood that she had a real love for the truth of God, and that love brought true riches to Mildred. She followed Jesus faithfully until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Lee Richardson; her parents; and six siblings, Reba, Lois, Pauline, James, Gladys, Chester and Carol.
Mildred is survived by several nieces and nephews.
