ALICE MARY HEFFERNAN died 11 Sep 2013. Her death was quickly followed by the death of her husband, Cornelius Stephen Heffernan on 16 Sep 2013. Together they were the parents of five children, including the late John Heffernan, Kathleen (Heffernan) Sabbatino, and Cheryl Heffernan. They were known as “Pop-pop” and “Nana” to their 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A joint service was held for the couple on 18 Oct 2013 at the Powell Funeral Home in Amityville, Suffolk, New York.
