Ruth Anne Berry, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 3, 2020. She was born on January 15, 1935 in Shelbyville, IN to the late Jesse and Mary (Pearcy) McMurray.

Ruth was a member of Woodland Baptist Church since the late 1960’s and served her Lord as a deaconess for many years. She gave her life to the Lord and always loved with her whole heart.

She enjoyed bowling on the church league for many years until her health forced her to give that up. She loved to do word search puzzles and playing rummy as much as possible with her family. Ruth made every effort to show support whenever needed and to always be there for her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her husband, George A. Berry; daughter, Linda (Paul) Shepherd; grandchildren, Brian (Janice) Kennedy, Julie Wilson, Jeff (Amalia) Kennedy, Jason Kennedy, Kelly (David) McClung, Aaron Shepherd, David Shepherd, and Robyn (Joe) Zeigler; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Carter, and Pansy Pyle; and brothers Earl McMurray, Alvin McMurray, and Donald McMurray.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN.

Ruth will be laid to rest in Miller Cemetery, Shelbyville, Indiana.
