Dennis McCaslin, Sr. of Fargo, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in Woodward, Oklahoma on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 .
Dennis Leo McCaslin was born on April 22, 1946 in Perryton, Texas to Rollie John and Leona Mae (Morgan) McCaslin. He graduated from Fargo High School in 1965 and was proud of finishing one semester of college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. He married Shirlyn Kathaleen Wright on May 11, 1970 in Perryton, Texas. They made their home of 50 years in Fargo, where they lived and raised three children, Amy Kathaleen, Dennis Leo. Jr., and Mandy Kayleen.

He worked part time for a short time with the Oklahoma Employment doing surveys. He also worked at Bill Williams Oil, and as a Dispatch Field Clerk for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for 23 years.

Dennis enjoyed fishing, camping, playing Atari, playing cards, and dominos with family. He loved shooting his guns and talking about guns with his kids, nephew Don Whitsitt and brother-in-law Lewis Whitsitt and James Wyatt. He loved making and painting toys for the kids and crafts for family and friends. He was always willing to help others if it meant directing traffic or giving a parking spot close to a store, because someone else might need it more. He enjoyed joking with the grandkids about having a boyfriend or girlfriend, knowing they did not have one or getting spankings for their birthdays. He loved his grandkids very much. The most important thing to him was family and helping them how ever he could.

Dennis was very innovative he could draw, paint, sew homemade Barbie clothes and furniture, He could always find a use for everything and anything and was very organized. He had homemade tools for reaching things, that otherwise he would not be able to get to. If he ever asked you to help him build something or work on anything he was always right there helping too. One example is, he had nephews Don Whitsitt and Larry Wyatt help build a porch, he was right there on a ladder helping them build it. He was always showing off the gifts his nieces would give him. He was one proud uncle.

Dennis taught all his grandkids, how to make a rope using a drill and bailing twine. He loved taking Andrew, Mila, Mason, and Rylie for rides on his scooter. He always wanted to see them in their Halloween costumes and make sure they got candy.

Dennis was a proud Dad, proud Grandpa, and most of all he very much loved his wife Sherry, whom he was blessed to have 50 years with.

He is survived by his wife Shirlyn (Sherry) McCaslin of the home; daughter, Amy Beam of Woodward; daughter, Mandy Corbin and husband Harl of Gage; son, Dennis Leo McCaslin, Jr. and wife Donna of Fargo; grandchildren, Andrew John McCaslin; Milagros Mae McCaslin; Mason Dennis Gene Hill; Rylie Joe Feerer; sister, Verla Whitsitt and husband Lewis of Gage; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
