Animator, Writer, Editor, Television Producer. Born and raised in Los Angeles where he attended Fairfax High School. After graduating he served in the United States Navy during the Korean war onboard a destroyer. After be discharger he started his professional career with Walt Disney Productions in the "inbetweening" department. After a short stint at Disney he moved on to Hanna-Barbera Productions where he met his future partner in business, Ken Spears. While there the two became business partners and formed Ruby-Spears Productions. They wrote, produced and animated several shows. While at Hanna-Barbera they created their most notable show "Scooby-Doo".
