On September 3, 2020, Larry Duaine “Fink” Farmer, age 70, took his journey to his heavenly home. He passed away at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was a life long resident of McDowell County where he made his home in Pageton for 47 years.

He was born in Welch, WV, February 19, 1950 to the late James “Jim” Farmer and Eloise “Lois” Hedrich Farmer.

He was a 1968 Gary High School Graduate. He was a coal miner most of his life. He worked construction, was a little league and senior league coach for many years. He was a member of Leckie Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was a deacon. He enjoyed drag racing, fishing, camping and hunting with family and friends for years. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Farmer, his parents, James and Eloise Farmer, mother-in-law, Alice Mae Holleman-Miller Keys, one sister, Regina Farmer Hedrick, one sister-in-law, Freida Miller-Artz, one brother, Gregory Farmer and one niece, Amy Farmer.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 50 years, Judy (Miller) Farmer; his daughter, Teresa Farmer of Pageton, WV; his son, Larry Farmer II (wife Stephanie) Rockwell, NC; 4 grandsons, Adam Farmer (Emily) of Leckie, WV, Dustin Farmer of Pageton, WV, Hunter Farmer of Moravian Falls, NC, and Thomas Farmer of Rockwell, NC; 4 great-grandchildren, Aiden and Skylar Farmer of Bramwell, WV and Levi and Gracie Farmer of Leckie, WV; one sister, Vickie (Farmer) Mikles (husband Jamie); two Brothers, Ricky “Sackman” Farmer (wife Kathy Burge) of Sarasota, FL, and Ronald Farmer (wife Diane) of Leckie, WV; and nephew, Jacob Farmer of Pageton, WV. A host of nieces and nephews whom he loved. He also leaves behind many friends and church family.

Funeral Service will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Pastor Mary Lambert of Leckie Pentecostal Holiness Church officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where Adam Farmer, Dustin Farmer, Hunter Farmer, Thomas Farmer, Terry Chatman, and Jared Minnix will serve as pallbearers.. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.cravens-shires.com.
