Margaret Ruth Outon Grant, 100, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at her residence in Irving TX surrounded by family. She was born September 22, 1919 in Red River County Texas to the late Kirby Jerome Outon and Sudie Marsh Outon. She grew up in Annona, Texas near Clarksville. Margaret lived in Georgetown Texas and was a member of Meadowcrest Baptist Church in Georgetown before moving to Irving where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Irving. She graduated from East Texas State Teacher’s College (now Texas A&M – Commerce) in 1941 and was a public-school teacher for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carlton Robison and husband, Daniel A. Grant. She is survived by her sisters, Jerome Roberts of Irving, and Helen Ussery of Irving; a niece, Cindy Lawrence of McKinney; nephews, Randy Ussery of Ovilla, Mike Ussery of Colleyville, Terry Ussery of Keller; and six step-children, Richard Grant, Thomas Grant, John Grant, Dan Grant, Beth Fiare, and Mary Ann Davis; and several step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 W. Airport Freeway, Irving. Burial will be Monday, September 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Clarksville, TX 75426.
