David L. Camp, Sr. passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at his residence in Marquez.

David Leo Camp, Sr. was born on December 7, 1950 in Palestine to parents Horace Lee Camp & Nelda Frances. After he graduated from Palestine High School, he joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany during Vietnam. David married his wife, Denvia Catchings on September 23, 1978 and they lived in Palestine until 1991 when they moved to the Seale Community. He hauled wood for many years before starting his own air conditioning and contracting business. David loved to hunt and fish. He was a very loving father and husband. Mr. Camp was a Pentecostal by faith.

He is survived by his wife, Denvia Camp of Seale; four children, Jerri Negrete of Sommerville, James Pace & wife Susan of Palestine, Crystal Camp Goff of Seale, and David Camp, Jr. & fiancé Katlin Pickett; ten grandchildren, John Viser, Cody Holiday, Matthew Holiday, Mariah Hull, Brittany McCoy, Jaymie Pace, Jasmine Goff, David Camp, III, Evan Pickett and Avery Pickett; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mr. Camp was preceded in death by his mother, Nelda Coker; his father, Horace Lee Camp; and his stepmother, Roberta Camp.
