Loving husband, dad/pops, grandfather, and great-grandfather went home to the Lord on August 27, 2020 after a long battle with COPD and emphysema. Mike was a proud veteran of the US Army, where he served with the Military Police from the late 1950s to the mid 1960s. He served with Lansing Fire Department from 1965 until 1991 as a Firefighter, EMT, Arson Investigator, Public Information Officer, and retired out of the Fire Marshall's Office. He worked intermittently for Mercy Ambulance and was Director of Security for The Lansing Mall.

Mike's hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing, as well as spending time with "THE FAM." He was a member of The American Legion, Post 412 in Bath. He was an active member of Haslett Community Church, where he served as a Middle School Youth Group Leader, chaperoned mission trips, mentored many young men through confirmation, and was a member of the choir.

Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Danna; best friend, Buddy (the dog); daughters, Patrice (Todd) Olson and Kari Hodge; sons, Michael R. Dixon and Daniel (Brenda) Hodge; grandchildren, Mikaela Olson, Alexandria Olson, Craig (Angelique) Pitchford, Bayelee Hodge, Cassidy Hodge, and Edie Hodge; great-grandchildren, Oliviana Pitchford and Beau Pitchford; brother, Walter (Nancy) Dixon; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many special family friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; one brother; first wife, Jean.

A private committal service and celebration of life will take place at a later date.
