MUNCIE – Lisa A. Young, 62, passed away on Monday evening, August 31, 2020 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born on December 29, 1957 in Richmond, the daughter of James W. and Dora E. (Rankin) Brown and graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1975. On January 2, 1992 in Fairfield, Ohio, she married Darwin L. Young.
Lisa worked for Magnode in Ohio for 3 years and Monroe Plastics for 8 years. Lisa and Darwin moved to Muncie in 2002 and she then worked for Lifetouch for 13 years until her retirement in 2016.
She loved beaches and her dream was to go to Maldives. Her passion was cooking, camping, spending time with her family and her animals.
Surviving are her husband of over 28 years, Darwin L. Young; two sons, Josh Hill and Jeremy Hill; daughter-in-law, Janelle Clark (husband, Shane); five grandchildren, Morgan Hill, Collen Hill, Molly Hill, Madelyne Hill and Macy Anne Hill; one sister, Cindy Ketcham (fiancé, Jamie Stout); father-in-law, Arthur Young (Nancy Joseph); brother-in-law, Chad Young (wife, Angie) and their children, Katie, Drew, Zach and Eve; two nephews, Dillan Ketcham (wife, Bekah) and their children, Silas, Nora and Ty: and Cole Ketcham (girlfriend, Olivia Ruble) and their child, Kinsley; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dora Hazelbaker; her father, James W. Brown; her mother-in-law, Carolyn Young and one aunt, Emma Riley.
Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with her nephew, Pastor Dillan Ketcham officiating. Cremation will take place.
