At age 80, Betty passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at her home. She was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Otto (Jake) and Helen Schlegel. Betty is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years; Robert G. Rhodes, her children; Pat (Everett) Medlin of Aviston, IL., Scott R. Rhodes (Kathaleen Carbone) of Conesus, NY, her sister; Suzanne (Richard) Bennett of Lakeville, NY, her grandchildren, Elizabeth Medlin, Kevin Medlin, and Courtney Rhodes.

Betty was a life-long resident of Conesus Lake and loved her friends and family visiting and enjoying time on the lake. Gardening was one of her passions, especially growing squash for the annual “Turkey and Biscuit Dinner” at the Conesus United Church. Betty found it rewarding as a member of the Conlon-Mulvaney Legion Auxiliary, Town of Conesus Election Officer, and transporting seniors to their appointments. Betty, along with her beloved husband Bob, were awarded the Town of Conesus, Senior Citizens of the Year Award in 2006. Betty’s greatest passion was being with her family and friends.
