She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to all who knew her. Jeanne was born November 27th, 1921, in Bradford, Pennsylvania to Gustine and Lillian Cable. She attended Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She met and married James O. Mitchell and they had two daughters together. Together they moved from Pennsylvania to Texas in 1950 where she would live out the rest of her days. Jeanne was a longtime and active St Michael & All Angels Church member in Dallas, Texas. She would also often volunteer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and enjoyed her time there. When she wasn't out in the community Jeanne could be found playing card games, she especially loved to play bridge.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Marcia Deacon (William) of Colleyville, TX; Grandchildren, Dianne Normand (Jeremy) of Arlington, TX and William Mitchell Deacon of Austin, TX; and Great-Grandchildren, Joseph Normand, William Normand, and Caroline Normand of Arlington, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband James O. Mitchell, parents Gustine and Lillian Cable, and daughter Linda Mitchell.
A graveside service for Jeanne C. Mitchell was held at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. The family would like to thank those at Dancing River Assisted Living and Memory Care in Grapevine for taking care of their mother for the last year and a half. Online condolences may be made by visiting the Bluebonnet Hills website. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 4Saints Episcopal Food Pantry in Fort Worth, Texas.
