BIOGRAPHY:
Clara DiCaire was born in Bessemer, Michigan to her parents Peter Mitchael Dicaire and Alice Regina Friederich
She grew up there and moved to Bemidji, Minnesota where she married Louis Fidelis Murphy Sr. on February 3, 1915.
She attended Wesley College and the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND.
On June 19, 1956 Clara married Dr. George D. Gertson in Grand Forks.
Clara Gertson was a Gold Star Mother, organist for St. Mary's Church for three years, and musician at Tufte Manor where she lived for ten years.
Survivors are her daughter Clara (Mrs. Thomas) McElroy, Grand Forks, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Louis Fidelis Murphy Jr., Captain, US Army.
