Susie Mae Wilson, of Opelika, Alabama, formerly of Tuskegee, Alabama, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Arbor Springs Rehabilitation Center in Opelika, Alabama. She was born in Macon County, Alabama.

Susie confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was raised in Birmingham, Alabama where she graduated from Parker High School at the age of 16. She attended college and was inspired to be a journalist.

Susie was a loving mother and grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren whom she devoted all of her love and support. Her life revolved around her family. She loved reading, writing, doing crossword puzzles, completing word searches and assembling puzzles.

Survivors include: three daughters, Macie Sanders (Gary) Woods, Deborah (Ricky) Jackson and Seprena (Eric) Dowdell; one sister, Katie Mayfield; two brothers, Herbert Wilson and Warren (Evora) Wilson; sister-in-law, Frankie Wilson; seven grandchildren;
ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Ashdale Cemetery on Ashdale Road in Tuskegee, Alabama with Reverend Robert Cadenhead officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Harris Funeral Home, 515 South 6th Street, Opelika, Alabama.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19), the CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
