James B. Mullen, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away while at home on Thursday, August 27, 2020, after a long battle with a multitude of health problems.

Mr. Mullen was born on August 18, 1956 in Greenville, NC, the youngest of ten siblings. He was a carpenter, mason, heavy equipment operator and most recently an independent truck driver. He loved being a trucker and spending time in every state except Hawaii. He spent his spare time cooking and fishing. He was the first to offer shelter or food to those in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. William E. Mullen, Sr., and Mrs. Verna Lee Lilly Mullen, his brothers Otis Mullen and Herman Mullen, and sister Wanda Mullen. He is survived by his children, Shanna Kahn, James Mullen, Jr., and Michael Mullen, grandsons Wayne, Tyler, Kyle, Caleb and Blaze, and siblings, William Mullen, Jr., John Mullen, Lois Dainack, Robert Mullen, Joyce Smith, and Samuel Mullen and their families.

A celebration of life service will be held at First Simple Church at 16401 Chickahominy Bluff Road in Williamsburg, VA on October 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Sam Frye.
