Billy Eugene Hughes, age 81, of Madison, Indiana, formerly of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on November 20, 1938 in Switzerland County, Indiana. He was the son of the late Stanley B. and Elizabeth (Walston) Hughes. He was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1956 graduate of the Vevay High School. Billy was united in marriage on June 4, 1960 in Moorefield, Indiana to Virginia Ann Brown. This union was blessed with a son, Chris and a daughter Kim. Billy was employed for Jay C Food Store and Kroger Grocery Store in Madison, Indiana, retiring after several years of service. Billy was an excellent artist and enjoyed art. Billy passed away at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.
Billy is survived by his son, Chris Hughes and his wife, Mindy of Bloomington, IN; his daughter, Kim Roach and her husband, Roy of Seymour, IN; his 6-grandchildren; his 3-great-grandchildren and his brother, Daniel Hughes and his wife, Lynn of Nashville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley B. Hughes, died June 23, 1990 and Elizabeth (Walston) Hughes, died December 26, 1981; his brother, James A. Hughes, died October 7, 1970 and his sister, Pauline Branham, died June 6, 1997.
Burial will be held in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
