Kerry Day "Paw Paw" Yoes, a loving husband, father and grandfather, died at home, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle against cancer at 2:32 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2007. He was 59, a resident of Prairieville, a native of Baton Rouge and a retired information resources manager with Albemarle Corp.

Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., until religious service in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Murray. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Survived by his wife of 40 years, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Evans Yoes; two daughters, Keely Scott and Kimberly Neelis and husband Jack; son, Kerry Dale Yoes and wife Courtney; sister, Betty Richardson and husband Terry; brother, Darryl Yoes and wife Betty; four grandchildren, Jack and Evan Neelis, Robby Scott and Lucy Yoes; and numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Eseley Yoes; brother, Lonnie Dale Yoes; and son-in-law, Robert Lee Scott.

He was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University. The family wishes to express appreciation to Dr. Tumminello, Dr. Preti and the staff of Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Donations may be made to the Cancer Society of Greater Baton Rouge.
