Ralph Walker Baker, Jr. "Whitey", 79, of Roxboro, died Monday, August 31, 2020. Born in Alamance County, he was the son of the late Ralph Walker Baker, Sr. and Frances Russell Baker. Mr. Baker served in the North Carolina Army National Guard for over 37 years. He was a member of Ca-Vel Baptist Church for 56 years. Mr. Baker was a mechanic for Pepsi and worked part time at Clayton and Hurdle for 40 years.
Surviving are his wife of almost 56 years, Sue Shotwell Baker of the home; two children: Renee Baker Oakley (Chris) and David Baker, all of Roxboro; one brother, Raymond Baker (Betty Jean) of Graham; two sisters: Betty B. Albright of Mebane and Ruth B. West of Alamance; one granddaughter, Maisy Lynn Baker of Burlington; host of nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Ca-Vel Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 3 PM Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Ca-Vel Baptist Church with the Dr. Don McKinney, the Rev. Richard Long and the Rev. Kevin Gift. Burial will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Ca-Vel Baptist Church, 1885 N. Main Street, Roxboro, NC 27573.
