Michael E. McLean, age 79, of Troy, died at 7:16 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2020 at his residence.

He was born January 18, 1941 in Edwardsville, the son of the late Donald and Dorene (Braundmeier) McLean. He married Charolette Scaturro. She survives.

Also surviving are eight children: Pamela Beck, Shawn Jeffries, Laura-Lee Huber (Russell),
Shawna Lee (Jeff), Crista Davis (Stephen), Eva Bartony (Lee), Michael McLean, Jr. (Ann and Ann-Marie Flowers (Robert); and two sisters: Kathleen Kelahan of New Jersey and Alice Rezabek (Richard) of Edwardsville.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Patricia Hetzel; one brother, Donald W. McLena, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Tom Kelahan.

Mike worked as a carpenter and had also worked for Madison County. He was an avid wood-worker and enjoyed making bird houses. He was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Maryville.

According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated. A memorial service is pending.
