JAMES P HERRON SR

James P. Herron, Sr., 78 of Lansdale, PA, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020 after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Kathleen (nee Lee) Herron, his beloved wife of 58 years.
Born August 5, 1941 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary Kate (Higgins) Herron.
Jim was raised in Philadelphia and was a 1959 graduate of Northeast Catholic High School. Immediately after graduation, he started his career at Gulf Oil in Bala Cynwyd, PA where he met his future wife, Kathleen Lee.
While working, Jim attended LaSalle College evening division and graduated in 1969. He and Kathy married in 1963, started a family, and eventually settled in Lansdale, where he became very active at Corpus Christi Parish as a member of the Holy Name Society, an Extraordinary Minister, Lector, Usher, and the Men of Malvern.
His career took him to senior level management with Xomox Corporation and a move to Cincinnati, Ohio. After two years in Cincinnati, Jim wanted to return to his roots in the Philadelphia area. Herron Associates was born in 1978. Jim moved the family back to Lansdale, PA and rented a small office in North Wales. After 20 successful years, the business was acquired by Proconex.
He was a member of Old York Road Country Club for over 30 years where he enjoyed golf and many close friendships. Jim enjoyed his time at his home in Avalon, NJ where he loved to entertain his family, especially the grandchildren, always telling his famous Pop-Pop stories with a twinkle in his beautiful blue eyes. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Kathleen Herron of Berwyn, Bernadette Gough (George) of Ashburn, VA, James Herron, Jr. (Dianne) of Harleysville, and Mathew Herron (Amy) of Lansdale; 11 grandchildren; and five siblings, Mary Prinzo (Anthony), Frank Herron (Ann), Sister Mary William SSJ, John Herron, and Kathleen Herron.
