CECILIA J. JONES, 80, of ASBURY PARK, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Cecilia retired from Jersey Shore University Medical Center in 1997, where she worked as a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of Bethel AME Church, Asbury Park, and the Elizabeth Bunn Temple 677, Neptune, for over 30 years, where she held the positions of financial secretary, state nurse and antler guard.
She was predeceased by her husband, Officer David Jones Sr.; her eldest son, David Jones Jr.; and her youngest son, Edward A. Jones. She is survived by her four children, Leonard Jones, Michael Jones, Celeste White, and Cecilia Ramseur; a sister-in-law, Cora Lewis; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the James H. Hunt Funeral Home, 126 Ridge Ave., Asbury Park, with the Rev. Johnie E. Vause Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
