Daniel Lee Adams, Sr., 80, of LeFlore, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
A private family funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020 at the tabernacle at the Thessalonian Baptist Church in the Salonia Community near Red Oak, Oklahoma under the direction of Jones Harkins Funeral Home of Wilburton with Rev. Ron Fleming and Mr. John Johnson officiating. The burial will follow at the Thessalonian Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Adams, Clayton Mathis, Dustin Mathis, Andrew Adams, Little Stan Raymond, and Anthony Adams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Prock, Vince Baker, Moses Johnson, Bill Durant, Delton Cox and Melvin Palmer.
Daniel was born on April 14, 1940 to Leo and Myrtle (Jack) Adams in LeFlore, Oklahoma. He married Rotha Lou Mackey on August 3rd, 1960 in Poteau, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Rotha Lou (Mackey) Adams; his sons: Danny and Kim Adams of Broken Arrow, Doyle and Crystal Adams of Red Oak; his daughters: Brenda Adams and Vince Baker of Hartshorne, Carolyn Butch Hotella of Talihina, Cynthia Renee Adams of Poteau; 10 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; two sisters: Laura Mackey of Salonia and Marie Jackson of LeFlore; sisters-in-law: Mary Coley and husband, Joe of Wilburton, Martha Mackey of Talihina, and Christine Mackey of Wister; brother-in-law: Gerald Watson of Talihina; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents: Leo and Myrtle Adams; two sons: David Thomas Adams and Jimmy Ray Adams; a brother: Richard Adams; and his mother-in-law: Frances Mackey.
