Elaine, 71, of rural Harrison passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 28, 2020. Elaine was the daughter of Walter and Leona (Zielinski) Michalski.

Elaine had resided in Harrison since 1986, moving from Florida. On July 24, 1987 in Harrison, Elaine was united in marriage to Mr. Gilbert “Gil” Elliott Thompson. Gil preceded Elaine in death on February 14, 2012.

Elaine was a faithful and active member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison, where she served as Eucharistic Minister and Usher for many years. Elaine volunteered many hours at the Clare County Baby Pantry. She enjoyed visiting the casino and playing Bingo.

Surviving Elaine are her three brothers; Dennis Michalski of Wyandotte, Michigan, Frank Michalski and wife Carol of Clare, Michigan and Phillip Michalski and wife Suzette of Avon Park, Florida, one step-son; Glen Thompson of Georgia, two grandchildren; Krystopher Thompson and Nicholas Thompson, one sister in law; Linda Michalski of La Salle, Michigan, plus many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Thompson also was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James “Yogi” Michalski, and one step-son, Steven Thompson.

A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Thompson will be held Friday, September 4, 2020 from St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison with Monsignor Francis B. Koper officiating. Family will receive visitors on Friday, September 4, 2020, until the time of Mass. Inurnment will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Southgate, Michigan.
