GASTONIA - Donald Oliver "Ted" Lunsford, 75, passed away on Oct. 6, 2016 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas.
Ted was a native of Murphy, son of the late Clifton and LeEllen Grigg Lunsford.
Ted was the owner operator of his construction company for 50 years. He was a member of Fraley Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. He loved to teach Revelation, go on mission trips, and loved the beach.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Sherry Dee Andrews Lunsford; son, Scott Lunsford and wife Heather; daughters, Lee-Ann Roberts, Rebecca Goddard; brothers, Harold Lunsford and wife Betty, Teddy Dean Lunsford and wife Yvonne; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and special pet Sally.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016 at Fraley Memorial Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3 p.m. with Dr. Warner Doles, Rev. Charles Keller, and Rev. Ken Faulkenberry officiating.
