Mr. Sloan was born September 16, 1943 in Pickens County, SC and was a son of the late James B. Sloan and Amanda Leverette Sloan. He was a graduate of Chester High School and attended Limestone College. Mr. Sloan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Essex Corporation and was also retired as a Chester County Magistrate Judge. Lonnie was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop # 73 and a Little League Baseball and Pee Wee Football coach. He enjoyed cooking and was talented in singing and playing the guitar. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Kay Boulware Sloan; three children, Bobby Sloan (Dana) of Mansfield, OH, Scott Sloan (Samantha) of Rock Hill, SC and Brooke Sloan of Chester SC; three grandchildren whom he adopted and cared for and loved as his own, Bethany Sloan Cameron (Kris) of Rock Hill, SC and Christian Sloan (Makayla) of Chester, SC; Brooklyn Sloan of Chester, SC grandchildren, Josh Sloan (Bree) of Huntersville, NC, Madalyn Sloan of Mansfield, OH, Gavin Sloan of Mansfield, OH, Chandler Sloan and MerryScot Sloan of Rock Hill, SC, three great-grandchildren, Bella Cameron and Brooks Cameron both of Rock Hill, SC and Peyton Sloan of Huntersville, NC; one brother, John Sloan (Sandy) of Jacksonville, FL; He was preceded in death by a daughter Heather Sloan; two brothers Jimmy and Gerald Sloan and a sister Sue Bright.
