--Son of Allan Wilson and wife Blanche Smith. He grew up in Lima, Ohio but the family moved to Gastonia, NC when Gene was 18. He attended Belmont Abbey College.
--U.S. Army Veteran. It was while serving in the army that he was recruited by the CIA.
--Occupation: He had a 33 year career with the Central Intelligence Agency and was awarded the Intelligence Medal of Merit. In his post espionage years, Gene became a Mediator for the City of Charlotte and the Equal Opportunity Commission and an Arbitrator for the New York Stock Exchange. He was a Certified Instructor with the National Council on Aging. Gene also provided consultant services for those in career transitions, retirement planning and employee workshops.
