Leon Floyd Thornton, 81, of Sapulpa left this world to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 20, 1939 in Claremore to Joel and Goldie (Fisher) Thornton. He was employed and retired from Sheffield Steel after 30+ years.

Leon enjoyed golfing, gardening, spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grand kids. He was caring, compassionate and had a radiant smile that impacted everyone around him. He was loved and will be missed immensely by all his family and friends.

He is survived by his son David (Clarissa) Thornton; His grandchildren; Melissa (Steve) Warren, Melinda (Shannon) Holliday, Michelle (Benjamin) Blosch, Ashley (Jason) Edwards, and Michael (Josie) Thornton. His great-grandchildren; Cody, Victoria, Jameson, Raylan and Olivia.
His siblings; Charles Thornton, Lola Surrell, Mary Cantrell, Judy Christie, Diane Thornton, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Paschal; his parents and 14 siblings.

Funeral service at 10 am on Saturday, August 29, 2020 to be held at Traditions Funeral Chapel, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma, 74039. Interment to follow at Sunrise Cemetery, Kellyville, Oklahoma, 74039.
