Services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020 in the Leonard-Marker Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Allen Schneider. Interment will follow in the Bixby Cemetery.

Phillip R. "Phil" Taylor was born on June 28, 1939 in Tulsa, OK to Richard A. Taylor and Katy Lee (Bumpus) Taylor. He passed from this life on August 31, 2020 at his home in Owasso, OK at the age of 81 years, 2 months & 3 days.

Phil was a member of the 1958 graduating class of Tulsa Central High School and also a graduate of Oklahoma State University. He was the owner of Taylor Marketing for many years. He worshipped as a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sapulpa and was formerly a longtime member of the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. His family warmly remembers him as a wonderful son, husband and dad that was especially devoted to his family. He took excellent care of his mother and was always faithful, loving and supportive to his wife and family. He also made homemade swings for all of his grandchildren. He was a very special friend to many and had the rare ability to stay close to friends throughout their lives. He was a classic car enthusiast and his 1968 Pontiac Bonneville convertible was well known in the area. In addition, he loved teaching others how to work on their own cars. He was a lover of sports but always had a special affection for baseball and was a big fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his beloved Boxer dogs. Phil was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Karla (Berry) Taylor, whom he married on June 9, 1973 at Boston Avenue Church in Tulsa as well as 4 children; Robert M. Hamilton and wife Jill, of Bixby, Timothy P. Hamilton and wife Gena, of Owasso, Berry L. Olinghouse and husband Jace, of Collinsville & Laurie Rowe of Great Falls, VA, 1 sister; Peggy Thurston of Alex, OK, 8 grandchildren; T.J., Savannah, Ramsey, Paislee, Ciara, Kendra, Jaylynn & Taylor, 5 great-grandchildren; Chapel, Brecken, Riggs, Aiden & Rynlee, 1 nephew; Phillip, 3 nieces; Melissa, Callie & Ginny as well as many longtime friends and church family.

Casket bearers are Robert Hamilton, Tim Hamilton, Jace Olinghouse, Taylor Olinghouse, Ramsey Hamilton and Phillip Thurston. Honorary bearer is T.J. Hamilton.
