Charles Edward Griffith passed away at Charles Regional Medical Center on August 22, 2020 at the age of 76 with his loved ones by his side. Charles was born November 28, 1943 in Ironton, Ohio.

In December 1960 Charles joined the Navy at the age of 17 and fought in the Vietnam War. He got his GED when he was overseas. He was discharged from the Navy in December 1966.

While in West Virginia, Charles worked at True Temper, Volkswagen, a gas station. He then moved to Virginia then to Maryland. He worked at Beretta, did janitor and security work at the hospital in LaPlata, Maryland and the Navy Base in Indian Head, Maryland until he retired.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles Wade & Katherine Louise Griffith and his sister Judith Katherine Griffith. He is survived by his beautiful wife Joan Marie Griffith, his children Melissa Griffith Atkins, Charles Wade Griffith, Edward Joseph Griffith, David Lee Griffith, and Tracy Marie Griffith; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister Rebecca Gannon Griffith, his brother Michael Patrick Griffith; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 3 PM until time of funeral service at 5 PM. Internment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland on Friday, September 4, 2020.
