Julia Mae Hall, 95, was born in Panola County, MS and passed away on August 30,2020 at Sardis Community Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Ida Mae Hoffman; stepfather, Fulton Dhority; first husband, Lavern Dhority; second husband, Norwin Hall; sister, Jean Welytok; daughter, Frances Scruggs; son, Larry Dhority; grandson, Wayne Scruggs and great great granddaughter, Kaleigh Scruggs. She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Gulbin (David Braddock); sister, Betty O’Neal; daughter-in-law, Pat Dhority; grandchildren, Gail Alexander (Richard), Brad Scruggs (Jennifer), Mitchell Dhority (Donnielle), Rachel Dhority; 9 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hall was retired from William Carter Co. being one of the first employees, then retired from Walmart. Besides gardening, she enjoyed making all kinds of decorative cakes and delicious pies. She loved her family and enjoyed their visits. All her friends were like family. She was a member of Looxahoma Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school for younger children in the earlier years. She always remembered one little boy could not pronounce Julia, so he called her, “Miss Dula”. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Looxahoma Church of Christ at 109 Lyles Road in Senatobia, MS, the Independence United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 152 in Independence, MS or to Northwest Mississippi Community College Foundation Larry Dhority Endowment Fund at P.O. Drawer 7017 in Senatobia MS.
