Larry Wayne Howe, Sr. age 69 passed away August 30, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born June 23, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio the son of the late Wayne Henry and Luetta Mary Arnold Howe. He was a 1969 graduate of Ida High School. He attended the University of Michigan on a Football Scholarship for two years. He married Ruth Gates in 1970 and they made their home in Ida, MI. He farmed, Lazy Boy Chair Company, Chevrolet Transmission Plant and then as an over the road trucker, trans-carrier.

They moved to Florida in 1987, and he worked for I.S.S. Landscaping in Orlando, FL, Maxim Crane Company as a mechanic. His last work was Orange County Public Schools in Dr. Phillips, FL as the resident custodian. He retired 1917 and moved to Jackson, TN. He had worked at Chester County schools as a custodian.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, jeeping and was a friend of Bill W. He was a loving and caring husband and “Big Pop” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Howe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth Mae Gates Howe of Jackson; two sons, Larry Wayne Howe, Jr. (Sandra) of Jackson and Michael Doran (Bobbie) of Beech Bluff and three daughters, Laurie Harker (Jack) of Tavares, FL, Sherry Croft (Buster) of Greenville, FL and Krystal Almon of Midland, MI; ten grandchildren, John John Harker, Scott Howe, Dustin Harker, Rachel Gibson, Robert Gibson, Jr., Eugene Gibson, Nichelle Poole, Jay Mazzella, Samantha Howe and McKenzie Howe; nine great grandchildren, Mason Howe, Max Howe, Carson Gipson, Stetson Gipson, Noah Colon, Olivia “Livvi” Colon, Roelynn Bowen, Paisley Mazzella and Jolene Mazzella; a brother, Charles Howe of Brooksville, OH and a sister, Janet Baumia of Monroe, MI.

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with Brad Patterson officiating.
