He was born on November 26, 1930 in Oakwood, Illinois, the son of Peter and Bertha Ann (Taylor) Young. He married Jerry Lou Holden. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Charles Robert (Shari) Young and Carla Gail Young and two brothers, Robert L. Young and Ben G. (Sue) Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael G. Young.
Carl graduated from Oakwood High School before he served his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. He earned his Associate’s Degree from Danville Junior College and began his career with the Illinois State Police where he served as a State Trooper until his retirement. Carl was also a member of the Vermilion County Radio Control Club.
A graveside service for Carl Young will be held at 10 AM on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, Illinois.
