Douglas R. Sanders, 75, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020, at home surrounded by his family.
Douglas was born July 27, 1945 to Robert and Edith Sanders. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1000 in Independence, MO. He retired from Wilpave Asphalt. Douglas enjoyed his family, fishing, and a friendly game of poker.

Douglas is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Sanders, and five brothers.

He leaves behind his daughter, Marlys Allison, and two granddaughters, Sara and Rachel Allison, of Independence, MO; three sisters, Helen Jobe, Shirley Thompson, and Kathy Giffey; two brothers, Jessie Sanders and Buzz Sanders; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many, many friends.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, September 1, 2020.

Funeral Service: 12:00 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2020, graveside service with full military honors at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133.
